We need at least one calendar month’s notice to lodge the Notice of Intended Marriage, which can be done in person with me or with a bunch of other authorised people like police officers, your GP, etc. I will also need to see your photo ID, as well as proof of date and place of birth. Apart from the one month’s notice to sign the NOIM, you also both need to be consenting to the marriage, not be closely related (eg siblings), over 18 (if you’re not, let’s chat because there’s more to this), not already married to someone else (I’ll need to sight a divorce or death certificate to prove your previous marriage ended if you’ve done this before).
